Please Give Blood

Every minute of every day, someone needs blood.  The American Red Cross has been providing the Greater Franklin County Area with its blood supply since World War II.  Today, we supply all of the region’s hospitals with blood collected from the nearly 100 bloodmobiles held each year.

Our chapter provides the volunteer support needed to successfully run bloodmobiles in all of Franklin County.  Our Blood Services Support Volunteer Teams are filled with fantastic men and women who have the satisfaction of knowing they save lives each time they volunteer.

How you can help

Blood Services Support is always seeking new volunteers who are looking to make a difference in their communities by volunteering at their local bloodmobiles.  Our volunteers enjoy a flexible schedule with many days and locations near their homes to choose from once a month or every week!  We offer three ways to volunteer with the Blood Services Support program.

  • Bloodmobile Volunteer Assistants greet and register blood donors and serve refreshments and monitor donors at local bloodmobiles.  Bloodmobiles last approximately 5 to 6 hours from morning to afternoon or afternoon to early evening.  This position is filled with wonderful and caring volunteers who help make the blood donation experience pleasant, efficient and satisfying to our donors.
  • Bloodmobile Volunteer Schedulers maintain the monthly team schedule by making phone calls to schedule other volunteers to serve at local bloodmobiles.  This position is great for outgoing and organized individuals who would like to volunteer from home.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Blood Services Support Volunteer team, please visit the Volunteer Services section and view our current listings.
